Very few authors write under their given names. Most authors use what's called a pen name, a name they pen (create) in order to have some privacy in their day to day lives while giving readers a name to reference them by. I, like many authors, use a pen name for my books. In fact, I have more than one.
I know you're probably asking me why in the world would I need to create more than one name to go by. And to be honest? I used to ask that very question. That is, until it was explained to me that readers want to know what they're reading when they pick up an author's books. And since I was branching out into different genres, I figured it was time for me to split my personalities... I mean names.
So, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to my other pen names...
Colleen Nye is my oldest and my first pen name. It is the name I started writing under. Both Immersion AND The Pull were under that name originally, in fact. However, Letters to Cora, The Celebrity Crush Trilogy, The Long Summer, those are my main works under that name, and they are far more romance than action or darker themes.
Nora Carter started out as a name I used for my gaming characters. She's a brash, sarcastic, know-it-all bookseller and owner of Nora's Book Nook in various worlds. So, it only made sense to have her be the name I write under for my non-fiction pieces that are designed to either inspire inspiration or give lots of trivia... also to inspire inspiration.
